Emphasis on Openess
We are now in June also known as Pride Month, a month commemorated to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. This was a pivotal point within history as the Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In today's topic, I hope to create a new positive mindset on being open to understanding those within the LGBTQIA+ community and their mental wellness.
The openness in question that I am speaking on dwells on individuals within various communities being able to consider the mental health of individuals who are at that point of understanding their sexual identity. As someone that witnessed from a third-person point of view what it is like to comprehend your sexuality, I realized it is no simple feat. Despite opposing feelings if they do exist, we as a people should be able to consider their mental wellness just as much as someone who is heterosexual.
I challenge everyone to build a sense of respect towards their lifestyle to live life as they see comfortable. Judgment and envy do not promote positivity within a community that should be filled with love and unity amongst each and every entity within it. With that being said never hesitate to become a safe space or advocate for someone who may need help understanding their sexual identity and mental towards their situation.
